Few things flourish in isolation. Families are definitely not one of those things. Whether you’d like to connect with other families, are looking for educational opportunities or want help in meeting basic needs, this section can help you identify an array of resources in your community.

Perhaps you’re looking for a personal network of parents and friends. If so, check out our ideas for connecting with others in your neighborhood. If you want to learn more about parenting, we’ve got classes and instruction and support for parenting. If you’re considering furthering your education, you’ll find practical resources for ESL courses, GED preparation, literacy classes and technology and computer instruction. And if you are looking for help with the basics – such as housing assistance or food and nutrition help – we’ve identified resources for meeting daily needs.

No challenge is too big when there are enough people to share in the solution. Your community can become a personal network of resources to support you in your daily life, connect you to other families and empower you to meet your family’s needs.
