Mary Toombs was born in Virginia November 21, 1933 and recently celebrated her 60th Anniversary with her husband Virgil Toombs. Not only does she have seven children of her own, but she has fostered more than 100 kids.
 How has the Boys & Girls Clubs of America helped your family?
Many blessings. The children get their homework done, go to different places and it is a blessing. They will have a place of security when I100% in our community, not only for me but for others. We have been here for 30 something years in this community and the best thing about it was the Club.
- What is the most challenging aspect of being a parent?
Trying to raise them to do right, love the lord, and getting them prepared to go to college.
- What is the most satisfying element of being a parent?
See the children grow up, get an education and love the lord.
- What does family mean to you?
Love, children growing up, what the children do for us and themselves, I love family and a large one at that.
- What inspires you
God. I know the lord, I pray and use him wherever I go, I can understand why people love Tebow because I know where he
