In 2005, 18 percent of U.S. children lived in poverty. Five years later, an economic recession is making things still more difficult for families, with jobs, health insurance and affordable housing all in short supply.
The Session:
Famed consumer advocate and reporter Clark Howard will join us with advice for saving more, spending less and avoiding getting ripped off. He’ll discuss ways for parents and caregivers to provide for their families’ immediate needs and build a framework for future financial security, even in today’s tough economic climate. Hear real-life solutions and learn how to make informed financial decisions.
The Expert:
Clark Howard is a radio host, TV personality, best-selling author and entrepreneur. He launched his own travel agency in Atlanta that was so successful, he was able to sell it and retire at the age of 31. Today, he’s back at work, though, with his voice heard on more than 200 radio stations every day. Howard is a reporter for Atanta’s ABC affiliate WSB-TV and hosts The Clark Howard Show on HLN (formerly the Headline News channel). On his shows and in his volunteer-staffed Consumer Action Center, Howard champions consumers and offers advice about personal financial issues.
